Textile pieces

I am a textile artist based in the Walkley area of Sheffield. I work mainly with silk, velvet, cotton and organza fabrics to create colourful, textured machine embroidered textile pieces. I also make knitted woollen throws backed with rich cotton velvet and handmade embroidered greetings cards. Limited edition prints of my work are available.

You can browse through the images above to see more examples of my textiles, or find out more about my working process here.

My designs are inspired by my Nigerian heritage and by my interest in Celtic imagery (notably the Book of Kells). I am particularly interested in the way both cultures, although seemingly very different, use spirals in their artwork and favour densely woven fabric with touches of gold and silver. Colour and texture feature heavily in both cultures.

I am having a solo exhibition from September 2nd to October 5th at the Anglers Rest community run pub, cafe/gift shop in the centre of Bamford, Derbyshire. Meet The Artist evening 7.30 to 9pm on September 9th More

In March 2016 I ran a 1 day workshop for Snape Textile Group in North Yorkshire + 2 machine embroidery and textile art workshops (small group) in central Sheffield during June 2016, £50 per person inc materials.

Please get in touch with me via phone/email/contact form Twitter/ Facebook or Blog about classes or workshops.
